New provincial incentives offer up to $60,000 in retention bonuses for obstetricians, nurses, and family physicians practicing in rural B.C.
VICTORIA, B.C. — The B.C. Ministry of Health launched an expanded rural clinical incentive package providing sign-on and retention stipends for physicians and nurse practitioners delivering maternity and emergency care outside the Lower Mainland.
"Every parent in British Columbia deserves access to reliable local healthcare when welcoming a newborn," Premier Eby announced in Victoria.
The program is paired with loan forgiveness provisions for newly graduated clinical specialists committing to three years of rural practice.
